Hearing services program Maintenance Plan

The Hearing Services Program (HSP) is a federal government initiative to provide hearing services to eligible Australians with hearing loss. An important aspect of the program is the availability of subsidised maintenance of your hearing aids through a maintenance agreement with your hearing care provider. On this page we break down what you need to know about Maintenance Agreements, who’s eligible, how to apply and, request your maintenance accessories.

Maintenance plan

If you are on the Government's Hearing Services Program (HSP) and have an active Maintenance Plan subscription, you can request your hearing aid batteries and maintenance accessories by completing the form.

As part of your Maintenance Plan, we will send them to you free of charge.

If you have any questions or require more information, please  Call 1800 554 968 or email bloom.

What is a maintenance agreement?

A maintenance agreement is an optional agreement between you and your service provider (like Bloom Hearing Specialists) that covers the cost of batteries, servicing, and repairs for your hearing devices for a 12-month period. This helps you avoid unexpected costs and ensures your devices stay in optimal condition. The HSP provides an additional contribution to your provider to help cover the costs of these agreements.

Maintenance agreements provide additional support beyond the warranty and consumer law, including:

  • Replacing batteries
  • Adjustments and reprogramming (including phone or accessory connectivity) for one service
  • Repairs to devices
  • Necessary components (e.g., earmolds, tubes, domes)
  • Hearing aid cleaning

How do I enter into a maintenance agreement?

To sign up for a maintenance agreement, simply speak with us at Bloom Hearing Specialists. We'll guide you through the process, which generally involves:

  • Discussion: We'll explain the benefits and costs of the agreement.
  • Agreement Form: You'll sign a Maintenance Agreement form outlining the coverage and your contribution.

You can choose to enter into a maintenance agreement at the time of your device fitting or at a later date. However, without an agreement, you'll be responsible for any service or repair costs.

How much does a maintenance agreement cost?

You may be asked to make a standard annual contribution, which is indexed annually.  Chat with us to discuss how much this yearly contribution is for you and how a maintenance agreement can fit your individual circumstances.
