Occasionally, your hearing aids will stop working as well as they should. This could be due to something as simple as parts being blocked by earwax, and a simple cleaning can make them good as new.
You may also find that your hearing aids need to be retuned and readjusted to suit your up to date hearing needs. Sometimes your hearing aids may have sustained more serious damage, and they need to be repaired.
We repair and clean hearing aids of all makes to keep them working to their full potential. The small repairs can be done at the store while you wait. If the damage is more severe, the hearing aids are sent to the manufacturers for repair.
It may take between five to ten business days to receive your hearing aids back from repair. These repairs may be covered by your hearing aid warranty package.
If your hearing aid is not under warranty it may still be repaired by the manufacturer. Since the hearing aids are made of small electronic pieces we do not recommend that you try to repair your hearing aids yourself. You will likely cause more damage to the hearing aids and it may void your "Loss & Damage" or insurance coverage.
Our hearing care professionals will give you a call when your hearing aids are ready to be picked up at the store.
New hearing aids may need adjustments or extra tuning done when you start to wear the new hearing aids.
It is good to remain customer, as it can take time to adapt to wearing hearing aids — your brain will be going through a process of adaptation as it learns to focus and filter sounds that come from the hearing aids.
Don't be afraid to speak up if something needs to be changed! It is a team effort to make sure your hearing aids work as well as they can to help you.
You may also find that, over time, your hearing goes through slight changes. This can lead to your hearing aids not helping as much as they once did. This is why we recommend our clients return for a periodic hearing checkup.
Some of the newest hearing aid models can be equipped with an accessory that allows you to have your tuning and adjustment appointments done remotely. That means you can sit at home, at a café, or while you are traveling as your bloom hearing hearing care professional tunes your hearing aid from our centre.
For our Telehearing Care services, all you need is a reliable internet connection and a smartphone. Some hearing aids will also require an additional programming device. Your hearing care professional will let you know exactly what pieces of technology are required.
These remote appointments are suitable for people who cannot easily visit their local clinic, either due to travel, weather, or mobility concerns.
